This is an exclusive opportunity by Young Tinker Academy for school students to be part of the Indian team for NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge 2022.

About the program

The NASA HERC includes designing, constructing and testing technologies, including tools, mobility devices and traversing in unique environments.  NASA plans to send the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024, and develop human presence by 2028. 

Like Artemis, NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge sends one female and one male on the excursion to discover unknown terrains. This student design challenge encourages the next generation of scientists and engineers to aid in the design process by providing innovative designs and unique perspectives.

The 10 membered India team from Young Tinker Academy bagged World Rank 3 at NASA HERC 2021.

These students had a special interaction with the Hon’ble Education Minister of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, wherein these students were felicitated by him.

Our winning story was featured in


  1. Selected students should bear a valid passport. In case the student doesn’t have a valid passport, the student shall bear a passport latest by 1 Jan 2022.
  2. There is NO registration/admission fee to apply for this program. Only after selection to the 10-membered team, a sum of INR 1,11,000 85,000 per member shall be paid towards 45 days of training by Young Tinker Academy. This consolidated amount includes a mentoring fee, team merchandise and the entire process involved in sending a technical team report to NASA. 
  3. Students from India can only be a part of this team. Individuals from 28 Indian States and 8 UTs are eligible to apply.
